These are where all of the sports teams and outdoor clubs come together to enjoy the outdoors.
The Faculty Lounge
This is where you can find all of the Specialists, the Teacher’s Assistants, the Professors, and any other faculty, minus the Headmistress, who can be found in The Tower, which is currently under renovation.
The Enchanted Roast
The Academy's singular coffee shop, they take in all forms of currency, though in the last 100 years they have stopped taking 'first born children' as a currency.
The Nexus Grounds
The Nexus Grounds describe the general grounds of Faustus Academy where you can find those who don't fall under staff, sports or those hired by The Enchanted Roast. In The Nexus Grounds are students, guest speakers, familiars and even those who live in the apartments and dorms within Haven Halls.
Faustus Academy is a unique institution that bridges the mystical and the mundane, serving as both a school and a sanctuary for supernatural beings. Nestled in an enchanted valley hidden from the mortal world, the Academy thrives on inclusivity and harmony among diverse magical and non-magical communities. Students range from young witches and werewolves to reformed vampires, ancient fae, and even ordinary humans with latent magical abilities. The curriculum is as diverse as its student body, offering a blend of magical arts, like spellcraft and potion-making, alongside traditional subjects such as mathematics, literature, and science.Beyond academics, Faustus Academy functions as a refuge for exiled beings, providing them a safe haven from persecution. Its walls are protected by ancient enchantments, ensuring its role as a political asylum for supernatural beings caught in interdimensional conflicts. The Academy is also renowned for its rehabilitation programs, aimed at helping individuals who have strayed into dark paths to rediscover their purpose and reform their ways.With its vibrant culture, the Academy fosters growth, understanding, and unity, making it not just a school but a community where beings of all origins can learn to coexist, harness their potential, and contribute to a better world.The Academy is nebulous as far as it's needs for space, the school getting larger or smaller to accommodate to the needs of the occupants.For those coming in, they are required to go through a week of talking to a Faustian Specialist, to determine what the best way to help them is. Whether that's helping them with their abilities, or helping them integrate back into magical society, a week long series of meetings had to have happened.
The FieldsThe Fields of Faustus Academy are sprawling grounds designed to accommodate the diverse needs of its supernatural and mundane community. These fields stretch across enchanted landscapes, blending natural beauty with magical enhancements to create a dynamic environment for sports, training, and recreation.At the heart of The Fields is a multipurpose stadium where students engage in both traditional sports like soccer, rugby, and track and field, and unique supernatural games and enchanted obstacle courses. The soccer matches are particularly popular, featuring enchanted balls that occasionally react to the players' emotions, making every game unpredictable and thrilling.A section of The Fields is dedicated to monthly werewolf training sessions, held under the watchful eyes of skilled instructors during the full moon. Here, werewolves practice transforming in a controlled environment, honing their instincts and learning techniques to channel their abilities safely. These sessions also include physical conditioning, pack coordination drills, and lessons on managing their heightened senses.Scattered across The Fields are enchanted fitness equipment, meditation groves, and areas for magical dueling practice, ensuring everyone has a space to explore their abilities and stay active. This vibrant space is not just a hub of activity but also a symbol of unity and collaboration among the Academy’s diverse community.Currently, the Faustus Academy Sports teams are undergoing a total rebuilding process, and only the football (soccer) field has been recovered.The Faustus Devils are the current soccer team consisting of eleven players and one anomaly that seems to always change in form, making them mostly unaccountable.The Faustus Hellhounds, a newly formed rugby team led by Coach Caerwyn, have taken it upon themselves to clear the rubble from the rugby field with grit, teamwork, and the occasional spell. Their efforts have not only sped up restoration but earned them a reputation for fierce camaraderie and an almost mythic work ethic. Faerie Politics and Magic
Politics
Faerie politics are often very messy, each court vying for power. There are five courts in total. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Magic. Each court has a Sovereign, usually a King or Queen, but some faeries have been known to switch gender according to their mood.
Each court has a general 'personality' that most faeries have, but there are plenty of exceptions.❀ Spring Faeries are often the most capricious, fickle and trickster-like, but they are often the most kind, nurturing and have the greenest thumbs . Their current Sovereign is Queen Rosalind.❂ Summer Faeries are often the most headstrong, with hot tempers and act before they think. They can be the fiercest warriors. Their passions burn bright, though because of their often hot-headed nature, they live short lives. The current Sovereign is King Cináed.❦ Autumn Faeries suffer similar fates as the Spring Faeries, often swinging between being hot-headed, cold-shouldered and fickle like the autumn winds that bustle through trees. They are the second most introverted, choosing to shine on rainy melancholic days. Their current Sovereign is King Bada.❄ Winter Faeries are often the most 'no-nonsense' of the seasonal courts. Preferring cold calculations to the emotional decision making of the other courts, they will happily cut off the head of a loved one if they no longer serve a purpose. Their current Sovereign is Queen Jóhanna.⚝ Court of Magic Faeries are the originator of all of the other courts. While the original royal lineage still persists in hiding, the Court of Magic is all but gone, due to the Winter Court's annihilation of them in the early 90's. The heir to the Magic Court disappeared into the human realm as an infant and has stayed in hiding. Their continued existence is the only reason faeries have magic.
Magic
Faeries will often use a magic called 'Glamour'. This can often do a number of things, though the most powerful is the potential for intentions of illusions.Most often use Glamour to enhance their physical appearance in some capacity. Some faeries use Glamour to hide their wings entirely, not just making them invisible, but hiding them from physical touch, though this often comes with the side effect of sore shoulders and a more sensitive back, especially between the shoulder blades.When a faerie decides to hide their wings, their wings become slightly muted tattoos etched on their back, and when the Glamour drops, the wings rise up from the tattoo and take their normal size, shape and color, being more vibrant (unless Glamour is used to keep vibrancy in the 'tattoo', which is most often the case.)The bigger the Glamour usage, the harder the concentration, so using Glamour to make an entire house requires more constant concentration than hiding their wings.

This is not a ritual to be done lightly- it could cause severe harm or death to the familiar if done improperly or against their will.Things to prepare for the ritual:one vial of moon water, mineral water (that’s also been allowed to sit in the light of the full moon), very specifically handmade candles made by the witch and familiar (one pink, two white, then one separate candle for the witch, and another separate candle for the familiar). The witch’s candle should have the familiar’s name carved into it by the familiar, and the familiar’s candle should have the witch’s name carved into it by the witch. Write the spell incantation with the familiar. This is a very intimate process, and words hold power, so make sure that both the witch and familiar get their say in the spell’s incantation. Have both the familiar and the witch wear a small piece of obsidian around their neck for a whole month, make sure it’s at rest in the middle of the sternum for optimal results. Optional: several bushels of lavender or lavender incense for calming effects.The ritual:Draw your magic circle, it has to be big enough to allow the familiar in their most natural form to lay down (whatever that may be to them, if they’re a demi-human), include the Goddess’ name in a sigil at the top in the north position, put the witch’s name in a sigil in the east position, then draw the familiar’s name in a sigil in the west position before writing the sigil of the names of both the witch and the familiar combined in the southern position.Prepare your mortar and pestle, it must be made of lapis lazuli. Anoint the mortar and pestle with mineral oil that’s been allowed to soak up energy from the most recent full moon.Grind the familiar’s obsidian, add the small vial of moon water, and then grind the witch’s obsidian.Once the mortar and pestle is anointed and stoned grounded, light all of the candles in order, white, pink, white, witch’s candle, familiar’s candle.First the familiar must be guided into a sleeping spell for astral projection. Astral projection can be lethal as this is when the soul is at its most vulnerable.Once the soul is out of body, the witch get a drop of blood from the familiar with a pure silver instrument (usually by pricking the finger) and then a drop of the witch’s blood.These are dripped into a mortar and pestle made of lapis lazuli with the obsidian and moon water and mixed up.Once the mixture is complete, the witch dips their finger in the mixture and will draw the symbol of the Goddess on the forehead of the familiar and then do the same on themselves. The witch will then lie down next to the familiar and begin chanting their incantation.The events that happen in the in-between is different for every pair, but usually it’s a fusion of heart, mind, and soul, revelations and sharing their history and feelings with one another in an intimate way that’s beyond words. The witch will take in the soul of the familiar and once the witch can feel the presence of their familiar in their whole body, the witch returns the soul to the familiar, and the process is complete.
Once the Bonding Rite is complete and done properly, the witch and the familiar will share a telepathic bond, heightening both the powers of the witch and familiar.The familiar will gain a better understanding of the witch's magic, and be able to cast some of the witch's lesser spells, as well as help with any rituals that require multiple people.Depending on the witch, the familiar can also help complete a Coven, though this has rarely been seen.Faustus Academy is the only known haven of witchless familiars, and with their vast wealth of arcane knowledge have been able to replicate some of the lesser effects of a Bond between witch and familiar with a jewelry (usually a ring worn by both witch and familiar).
